Hi everyone, I followed this instructions to add the command OrientHandle:
-
Place the folder “OrientHandle {d7369191-1ae2-4bd5-85c9-edf6057c3011}” inside these folders (if the PythonPlugIns folder does not yet exist, youíll have to create it):
/Users/~/Library/Application Support/McNeel/Rhinoceros/6.0/Plug-ins/PythonPlugIns/
-
Restart Rhino
-
Run the _EditPythonScript command in Rhino, close the code editor window that pops up, then you should be able to access the OrientHandle command (try to type it, it should appear in the autocomplete)
After restart Rhino the command isn’t working, anyone know if there is a bug or something else?

After rendering a model with the Rhino renderer set at 300 dpi then when the image is saved and opened in Photoshop as a .jpg file it opens at 72 dpi. How do I maintain the higher resolution?

How do I save a custom texture to a file? Each time I try the texture is saved in .rmtl in my own texture file but when I try to open it it is not recognized. Can I save it in Render Content with other .rmtl files? Also, the adjustments are not maintained if I try to use the texture I created when used on another form.

Hi,
I love the option Clipping planes could be linked to the details in layout! Just noticed that they don’t update accordingly to the layouts created. They dont `see´the latest layouts and details.

One more question regarding clipping planes,
when printing the layout (parallel projections) with active clipping plane, I can’t figure out how to have the cut objects in thicker lines / solid hatch. Is this supported on mac?

Was in ExtractMeshPart - clicked on object in Perspective viewport and it went black.
This is what I get when I switched to Wireframe
When I switch back to Rendered it is still black.

@jeff made some significant changes to the OpenGL Display Pipeline in Rhino 6 for Mac’s 6.20 Release Candidate. The original motivation was to fix:
RH-54092: Rhino doesn’t paint viewports if connected to Airplay (which is now fixed)
…but the changes went deeper than just addressing that problem. We suspect this may improve display performance
. However, as with any fundamental change, we cannot test under all conditions and on all GPUs. Please be on the lookout for regressions and report any suspicious viewport display behavior by @mentioning @jeff and myself. Examples of regressions might be: blank viewports, thumbnails that don’t update, or extremely slow display performance that is not occuring in 6.19.
Please switch to the Release Candidate update feed and give it a try.

For some reason no matter what I do with the modelling aid preferences the object snap is not displaying properly. When trying to use the function it’s a case of hit and miss- theres no “snapping” to speak of. Also there’s just a normal mouse icon for the cursor instead of crosshair.
For instance when I start a polyline and try to snap on an end of an existing line the cursor doesn’t move to the end as shown in tutorial videos. I’ve got everything turned on so expect this to work? Also tried different ‘snap radius’ settings too and still hasn’t changed anything.
Any help would be massively appreciated as I have a deadline looming for university.

I just upgraded my Rhino 6 for mac, to the lates version and is currently working on a somewhat simple model of a fish. I have simply loftet a skin over a set of poly-lines. Then offset the surface with 25mm. now im trying to make a simple 2D plan view which should have taken 1 min or less, but with the upgraded version i took hours. The previous version of rhino 6 did it in a few seconds or minut… help, what is wrong…

Bonjour,

In the attached file I have two surfaces. I want to split the red with the purple. When I execute SPLIT rhino tells me they they do not intersect.
If i do an intersect with RED and PURPLE I get a set of curves. I CAN split the red with the resulting curves.
I have 423 of these to do so I would be useful to get split to work here.

Hi @jeff
Hope you are the right person to address ![ ]()
I open well-defined files after the update and notice that rendered view looks completely different. And not to the better…
- Materials seem to behave different (very reflective although they should not be)
- Ambient occlusion seems to be off (while Skylight is on. Toogling it does not seem to have any effect)
- The groundplane is an endless boring grey plane that does not seem to be affected by any objects.
Screenshot of the nice rendered view of the same file before the update:
Screenshot after the update:
Any advise on how to get the nice clean rendered look back much appreciated.

Last question, for mac users, what you use for rendering? Vray is not compatible yet. Any suggestions?!
Every help would be accepted! Thank you!

Hi Guys, Great to have Rhino for Mac after 5 years of Parallel.
One thing I have noticed is the Formula function in the Layouts.
I would simply use the file name in the part-list put for some reason it does not appear (only the formula shows)
Is there a new button I need to press?
This worked fine in 5 so please check!
